Random cuteness

Brooklyn looks so small and cute when we put her on the giant lovesack!

We thought Brooklyn still was so teeny, until we put her next to baby Jaydn (Erika and Jordan's little boy) just a few days after he was born. Jadyn was born almost the axact same weight and length as Brooklyn, so we were able to see that she has grown quit a bit! Good job Brooklyn!
A few more cute pics of what I get to look at every day!

Here are two videos. They are probably not as exciting to you all as they are to us, but I thought I'd post them anyways. The first one is of the first time we put Brooklyn in her little bouncer seat. She was absolutely fixated on the little toy attachments! It cracked us up! And the second one is of Brooklyn talking to me. It's a video of over a month ago! So she talks even more now, I'll try to post a more current talking video soon, but for now, this'll do.

Fourth of July

I know, she's the cutest little thing you've ever seen, right? At least that's what i think! So, we found this little shirt at Old Navy a few weeks before the 4th and we thought it would be the perfect outfit for her very first Fourth of July! I know I should've taken alot more picture of what we actually did that day, cause we did lots of fun things, but I didn't. I did, however, get some super cute pics of Brooklyn. So, for her fist Fourth of July, we went to the Freedom Parade that takes place every year here in Provo. We walked to Brian's old office where they give out pancakes and hotdogs to the parade watchers around every year. Brian helped make the food, and I enjoyed eating it! haha, and Brooklyn enjoed all the passerbys that were admiring her cuteness!

Then, we had a fun BBQ with some friends at our house. Brian can make a pretty tasty hamburger. And then that night we went up to BYU campus and watched the Stadium of Fire fireworks. We were a little worried that Brooklyn might freak out when they started going off, but she loved it! She jumped at the loud BOOM of the first few, but then she just sat still, fixated on the bright lights in the sky for the whole rest of the show. She must take after me, I absolutely LOVE fireworks!

Isn't she getting so long?!?! Is it possible that Brian and I might have a tall child....?

Brian with his little sparkler. He adores her!

Baby blessing

We were very lucky to have so much family with us for Brooklyn's baby blessing. We had a big family event that same weekend, so my parents and siblings (except for Matt and Tawny who were expecting a baby any day) were all here for the blessing and it was a wonderful weekend! Brian's Grandma had made a blessing dress for Brooklyn that was absolutely adorable, we are thinking of using it for all of our little girls' (assuming we have more little girls) blessings.

Brooklyn's dress was very long! and very beautiful!

Grandma Nelson made these adorable
little booties, and a white blanket for the blessing day! Thanks Grandma Nelson! After everyone was gone I laid Brooklyn down and within minutes she was out! It was an eventful day and she was exhausted.
Me, Brian and Brooklyn after the blessing.

Us with Brian's parents.

Brooklyn with her mom and two Grandmas!

Sam and Alex are the cutest little boys ever!! They took bathes at my house and came out in their little towels. They looked so cute, I just had to get a picture!

Lindsie stayed a few extra days in Utah and we got so spent some fun time together. Brooklyn loved snuggling with Lindsie and Lindsie loved holding and playing with Brooklyn. It was a nice little break for me :)

So lots of fun things have happened since my last post. First, Brooklyn had her one month birthday! She's already 6 weeks now, but we were so excited when she turned one month old! We tried to have a birthday party for her, we invited a few friends and I made a tasty fruit pizza... but Brian and I must really be losers cause none of our friends came...haha. But it was still and exciting day for our little girl to be one month old. I really can't believe how quick it passed. I still feel like we just barely brought her home from the hospital. She is finally starting to grow. She has outgrown most of her Newborn clothes, and pretty much all of her 0-3 month stuff fits pretty well now, even though some of it still looks a little big. She is now in what I like to call her "awkward phase," because she has baby acne and she's loosing her hair. A little farther down I have posted some pictures of the stages of her balding haha. She is growing well and getting cuter and more lively each day.
We also had a fun Memorial Day on May 25th. We went out to Brian's parents' in Bountiful and spent the day with family. We had a BBQ and played outside and just had fun chillin'. Brooklyn is such a good baby, it's nice that we can go out places and know that she will be just fine and happy.
Then on May 26th I went to the Taylor Swift concert! Brian bought me 2 tickets so that I could bring a friend and he would stay home with the baby. So I brought my friend Dawn, it was her very first concert! We had a blast. I love Taylor Swift's music and the concert was really good. I was so grateful to Brian for thinking of me and getting me tickets. He is always watching out for me and wants to make sure that I get the chance to go out sometimes so I don't go crazy being cooped up in a house with an infant all day long ever day. He's such a great husband.
This weekend is youth conference for our stake, and since me and Brian are both in Young Men's and Young Women's, we have gotten to participate a little. Brian went with the youth to Salt Lake City yesterday for a few different activities, and to do baptisms at the temple this morning, and last night I went to chaperone the dance! I think the reason that I was put into Young Women's was so that I could go to the dances and get my groove on! I had a blast! I love the young women! We have so much fun together, this is by far the best calling I have had so far!
Well anyways, that's what we've been up to these days :)

Here are the pictures of Brooklyn's stages of balding...
STAGE ONE

I was so sad to see her start balding. It has started in the fron of her head and is working it's way back... so she looks like an old man haha. She's still adorable though.

Side View. Still lots of hair, but definitly a big bald spot there!

View from the back. As you can see, she still has tons of hair in the back at this point. To date she hasn't started loosing any hair in the back, but it is getting shorter as the rubs it off by moving her head around as she sleeps on her back.
STAGE TWO
And it keeps moving its way back...

View from the top of her head.
STAGE THREE
By now she is very bald and very old manish!

Front/Side view, still balding.... still adorable!

I love this last one. A front on picture. You cans see she still has lots of hair sticking up in the back, but absolutely nothing in the front! Hilarious!
Some randomly cute picture of Brooklyn

Doesn't she look so pretty in white?

How did we get such a cutie??

Got Milk?

So reverent

Our very first family photos!

And here are some pictures I took out in Bountiful with the family.

Jeanne in the new chair we all got her for mother's day. She ended up exchanging it for one she like better though haha.

More pictures and videos!

First moments of life

And now she's getting so big!

Brooklyn in the new stroller... looks like she's got a parachute attached to her!

She looks like a little peanut in this one!
Striking an interesting pose
Brooklyn with her daddy
Here are some fun videos

Here's a video of Brooklyn on her second day of life... absolutely adorable! After sleeping all day long on the first day, she actually a little awake for the camera.

My first mother's day was so exciting! I went to sacrament meeting and heard the primary sing and got a 100 grand bar for being a mother worth 100 grand! Then we went out to Paul and Jeanne's house (Brian's parents) to celebrate the day. It was a lot of fun and I am so happy to be a mom! Brooklyn is such a beautiful blessing in our lives and I feel priviledged to be able to take care of her.

Brian and I had been searching on KSL for a good jogging stroller that could also be used as our normal stroller, and we finally found one! Unfortunately, Brooklyn is still so small that she doesn't really fit in it very good yet, but we did some blanket work, and this is what we came up with...doesn't she look cozy?? I've been taking her on walks almost every day and it has been so nice to get out of the house. Some days we even go walk with my neighbor who just had a baby girl a few weeks before me and her other two boys. I need the adult talk time, so it has been a lot of fun.

Welcoming Brooklyn Maree Nelson into our Family

She may have been born 5 days late, but the wait was well worth it! On Friday, April 24, 2009, at 7:05 in the morning, Brooklyn Maree Nelson was born. She was 7 lbs and 21 inches and the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Brian and I were so excited, it's hard to believe that she is really ours. We came home from the hospital on Sunday morning, and welcomed her into her new home. Now, we're just trying to learn how to take care of a newborn, and it's been a blast.
She has been such a good baby, rarely cries, sleeps good, eats good..... practically perfect in every way. We have had a few exciting experiences already. Giving her her first bath was so fun. She may not have liked it as much as we did :) And then there was the diaper the other day.... as I was changing the poopy diaper, she starts pooping again!! Pretty nasty... lets just say poop was everywhere! I guess thats what comes along with a newborn... and my job as a mom now is to clean it up... that could take some getting used to. Overall, things are great.
I'm not very good with words, and I've never been a blog person, so sorry if I bore the readers... but hopefully I'll get better at this soon. In the meantime, you can at least enjoy the pictures!
