Chatterbox

Brooklyn must be the most talkative little girl I've ever seen! and she doesn't even know how to talk! haah (well, she does know about 6 words) We bought her a Toddler Bed, since in a couple of months she will be kicked out of the crib so the new baby can use it. She doesn't sleep in the toddler bed yet, but she LOVES to play on it (i'm hoping that means she will be excited when we finally have her sleep in it). The other night we were trying to get her ready for bed and she climbed up on the toddler bed and decided to tell us a BIG, LONG story instead of going to bed. The video is really long, don't feel like you need to watch the whole thing, but it is just a glimpse of how talkative she is! She spends most of the day walking around chatting like this! I wonder if she will still talk as much when the jabbering becomes actual words?
-For some reason I can't get blogger to let me upload pictures. So to see the video of Brooklyn you can go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=660taIu9SNM

Big, Long, Summer Post

So, apparently I'm only writing seasonally now haha. I haven't really written all summer, not because I'm too busy, and not because I haven't had anything to blog about, but basically just because I haven't felt like it. I'm gonna try to make this as short and sweet as possible. So, I'll just post some pics from the summer and put a few comments, but not much detail. Pictures are the fun part anyways, right?
Things may or may not be in order, it's all pretty much a bunch of randomness. Most of the pictures aren't very good because we lost our camera and have resorted to taking pictures solely with our video camera. Also, lots of fun things that we did this summer (more swimming adventures, family reunions, birthdays, aniversarys....etc. we have no pictures of because we are lame and forget to take our camera places)

Sweet picture of Brooklyn outside of the Provo Temple.

Baby SISTER on the way

We got the big news today! We had our ultrasound, and after making the ultrasound technician double check three times, we are excited to announce that we will be having another BABY GIRL! Brian and I both thought that it would be a boy, so when the lady told us that it's going to be a girl, I replied, "uh, how sure are you of that?" So she looked around and made sure she got a few really good views, and then assured us, that it definitely looks like a girl. Though a little caught of guard at first, we are actually very excited to be having another girl. Brooklyn has been so much fun and the idea of having another cute little girl running around is so exciting to me. Looks like I will continue soaking in the pink, flowers, and other girly things... I am TOTALLY OK with that! I think that Brooklyn will definitely enjoy having a little sister to grow up with, hopefully they will be best friends. I'm now half way through my pregnancy, 20 weeks down, 20 to go.....

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT (well technically he/she is still very small...)

SO... many of you already know, but for those who do not.... BABY number TWO is on the Way!! We are very very excited to have another little baby come into our lives. I am especially excited for Brooklyn because I think she will love having a little sibling! The due date is November 6th. We had an ultrasound about two weeks ago, and this is what the little tyke looked like! So cute right? Much bigger and developed than I was expecting! We will have another ultrasound in a month to find out the gender, so start making your guesses of what it'll be :)

Brooklyn Turns One!

So this post may be titled "Brooklyn Turns One" but actually there is a lot more than just birthday stuff. I fell behind on my posts, so here is an update of like the month and a half or so. Starting with the most recent.

Goodbye Em.
Last week my good friend and old roommate, Emily, left Provo, for good. Her husband will be starting Dental School in Oregon, and so off to Portland they go. I'm excited for them and their new adventure, but of course, it is sad to see yet another friend move away.

The Birthday Girl!
We had such a fun day for Brooklyn's birthday. I know that she won't remember it, but I couldn't help but throw her some kind of little party. So, we had a birthday BBQ! We had just a few friends and neighbors over and grilled up some hamburgers, and of course we had some cake!

Here is Brooklyn opening her birthday present... BUBBLES!

Here is Brooklyn and her friend Aiden.
Brian insisted on making Brooklyn's birthday cake. I found some really cool cake decorating pens at Walmart. They are literally like pens but to write on food with! Awsome!! I forgot to take a picture of the cake before I cut it, but it looked great!
Eatin the cake.

Wow, look at all those crumbs!

Friends at the BBQ

Video of Brooklyn eating her Birthday Cake. Hilarious, though probably not in the way you're expecting!
Sick
So two weeks before Brooklyn's birthday, she got sick... very sick. That Saturday she started throwing up. She held nothing down all day. Sunday she continued throwing up. By Sunday afternoon we were begining to get worried because she seemed to be getting worse instead of better. We took her to the doctors where they did a few little tests and decided that we needed to take her straight to the hospital so that she could get an IV because she was just too dehydrated already. So, to the hospital we went. It was so sad to see her hooked up to an IV. I feel like babies that little shouldn't be allowed to get sick, it's just not right. We were in the hospital over night and all day Monday. She kept a little bit of food down on Monday and didn't throw up at all, so they let us take her home Monday night. However, Tuesday morning she woke up just the same as she did Saturday, throwing up. We tried our best that day to give her small amounts of pedialyte and other clear liquids, we REALLY didn't want to have to go to the hospital again. But when she was still throwing up on Wednesday, we took her back to the doctor. Over the next few days we had blood work done 3 more times, took her to the doctors 3 more times and Brooklyn was literally living off of pedialyte, and nothing else. It was so so sad. She had absolutely no energy all week long. I literally just held her in my arms for a week straight. Poor little thing. But finally, by Saturday she seemed to have finally fought off the bug. She still wouldn't eat much yet, but she was getting better, and by Monday she was basically back to her normal self. It was a LONG week, but we are just grateful that nothing serious came of it and that our little girl is now healthy and happy. I know these pictures are kinda sad, and the video is really sad, but they are also kinda cute in a way. Notice in the video how she has a little baby sized hospital gown on. As I said, sad, but kinda cute.
These two pictures are just of her lounging around while sick.

Easter
We spent Easter up at Kimber and Matt's house along with some of the rest of Brian's family. It was so much fun. We had a great dinner, and Brooklyn actually somewhat enjoyed getting Easter Eggs. Here are two pictures of her and her Easter basket, and then a few cute videos of the day. One video is of her opening her Easter package that my mom sent, I thought my mom may enjoy watching her grandaughter openning the package.

St. Patrick's Day
I know, St. Patrick's Day was a long time ago, but I had to post about this dinner that I made haha. So, I thought it would be fun to make a special St. Patrick's Day dinner. Basically, I just made beef stroganoff and added green food coloring to it. The taste was actually fine, but the color was so disgusting that neither Brian nor I could eat much of it. We ended up with lots of leftovers in the fridge that stayed there for weeks, untouched. Until finally we threw it way. haha. Maybe next year I will just make something that is already naturally green!
